This event has become the largest surf contest in south San Diego County with over 120 competitors in 10 different divisions and hundreds of spectarors as well as music, prizes and other entertainment.

UAPO is inviting its member surfers in Ensenada for the 5th. time to compete in this event. For the first time south San Diego County and Baja California surfers will join together in a day of competition and celebration of our collective coastal region. The event will provide not only the first organized surfing competition experience for many under-served youths in south San Diego County and Baja California, but also their first opportunity to engage with fellow surfers from across the border.

Baja Surf Club Invitational -3rd and final stop of the Baja Bound Surf Series.
The Baja Surf Club Invitational was the first surf contest to promote friendship and solidarity between two countries back in the 1960’s. After years of absence and a new group of Mexican surfers taking the reins, the Club is at it again. This event will do what it did fifty years ago, form new and lasting friendships for years to come, by inviting surf clubs from USA and México to compete with each other in a friendly environment.
This event will also be the final stop of the Baja Bound Surf Series. The binational new series are organized by UAPO (United Athletes of the Pacific Ocean), WiLDCOAST and Baja Bound Insurance, with the goal of promoting youth surfing, cultural exchange and environmental issues shared by the US and Mexico.

Baja Bound Insurance will be putting up a prize purse of $2,500 that will be awarded to the top three open men's and open women's points leaders at the third and final contest. The surf series kicked off earlier this year with the Walter Caloca Surf open on March 28th-29th at San Miguel, the iconic pointbreak in Ensenada.
Both Wild Coast and UAPO seek to bridge the gap between Baja California and Southern California surfers and raise awareness about our shared environmental issues.
